Junior Scholarship Awards

Awards were presented to students in the Class of 2026 at Argyle Central School. Students were selected for special recognition for college-based scholarships.
Alexis Anderson, Brooke Austin, Dilyn McKernon, and Lillian McDougall received The Colonel Emerging Leader Award from Wilkes University. This award is given to a junior in recognition of outstanding achievement in academics and extracurricular activities. Alexis is the daughter of Heather Lampmon and Mark Anderson. Brooke is the daughter of Scott and Michelle Austin. Dilyn is the daughter of Ryan and Lori Mckernon. Lillian is the daughter of Dean and Heidi McDougall.
Alexis Anderson, Brooke Austin, Delainey Bates, Evangeline Landry, and Nicholas Seybolt each received the Student Sage Scholarship. This award was established to recognize excellence in the classroom and community engagement. Delainey is the daughter of Jeremy and Chelsea Bates. Evangeline is the daughter of Jesse and Gabrielle Landry. Nicholas is the son of Joseph and Sherri Seybolt.
Brooke Austin received the RIT Humanities and Social Science Award. This award is given to a junior who demonstrates an interest and ability in humanities and social sciences.
Delainey Bates received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award from the University of Rochester. This award is given to a junior in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and leadership.
Ethan Gonzales received the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology from the University of Rochester. This award is given to a junior in recognition of outstanding achievement in the pursuit of innovative approaches and an appreciation of the possibilities of technology. Ethan is the son of Juan and Amie Gonzales.
Evangeline Landry received the Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony Award from the University of Rochester in recognition of outstanding commitment to social justice and dedication to continuing their unfinished life’s work. Evangeline also received the RIT Art and Design Award. This award is given to a junior who has shown academic achievement, involvement in school and community, and demonstrates outstanding achievement in art and design.
Trenton LaPoint received the RIT Computing Award. This award is given to a junior who has shown academic achievement, involvement in school and community, and demonstrates interest and ability in computing. Trenton also received the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award. This award is given to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities and academic promise. He also received the RPI Medal Award in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in the study of mathematics and science. Trenton is the son of Jason and April LaPoint.
Payton Luongo, Dilyn McKernon, and Jacey Tucker have received the Keuka College’s George H. Ball Community Achievement Award. The award is given to students who embody Keuka College’s guiding principles: respect, appreciation, and care for diversity; integrity in pursuit of academic excellence; and social responsibility and leadership in their school and community. Payton is the daughter of Scott and Laurie Luongo, and Jacey is the daughter of Jeff and Heather Tucker.
Lillian McDougall received the RIT Science and Math Award. This award is in recognition of outstanding achievement. Lillian also received the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Scholarship. This award is in recognition of outstanding achievement and superior intellectual promise in the field of science. She also received the Alfred University “Outside of Ordinary” Scholars Award. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates leadership, academic exploration, and a positive attitude, as well as academic initiative and social awareness, embodying the true Saxon Spirit.
Wyatt Tranka has received the Clarkson Leadership Award. This award is given to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities and academic promise. Wyatt is the son of Edward Tranka.
