PCR Testing on Campus

PCR Testing on Campus
Posted on 12/08/2021

Dear ACS Parents and Guardians,

As part of our ongoing effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff, and to further support our daily in-person instructional model, the district has partnered with the Washington County Department of Health to offer diagnostic polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for on-site symptomatic individuals.  Through the “ELC Reopening Schools: Support for Screening Testing to Reopen and Keep Schools Operating Safety” program, the district has been allocated funds to provide saliva-based, PCR diagnostic tests for students who are presenting with COVID-related symptoms.

Current DOH regulations prohibit students and district employees who display COVID-like symptoms from attending school until they receive a negative PCR test from an urgent care facility, doctor’s office, or designated testing facility.

For the convenience of our students and their families, and when these symptoms appear while here at school, we are pleased to be able to now offer these PCR diagnostic tests here in our Nurse’s office.

In order for your child to be able to participate in the program, a parent/guardian will need to complete the following steps:

1. Visit the following link: https://app.clarifi-covid-19.com/

2. Click “Register” and complete the registration process

3.
Create a profile for each of your children (every child must have their own profile)

Once you have registered your child, if your child is displaying symptoms while at school, and with your permission, the student will administer their own PCR test (under the supervision of one of our school nurses) and then the district will send the test out for processing.

Although your child will still be required to remain at home until the results of the PCR test are received, providing the option to test at school will eliminate the need for a visit to the doctor’s office.

If you have any questions on this process, please feel free to contact our school nurse, Lori Keith at [email protected] or 518-638-8243, ext. 518..

Sincerely,

Michael Healey

Superintendent of Schools
